Coverage of events
Description
In the framework of this tender, we define coverage of events as the deployment of crews and equipment on a given site or venue on a given dates(s) to provide comprehensive monitoring and documentation of the development of the event.
Events can be of different nature
- Press conferences, program or product launching
- Speeches or talks
- Symposia, seminars, congresses
- Fairs, exhibitions
- Etcetera
There is a wide range of options in the coverage provided,
- From single-camera recording of a series of scientific talks in order to produce a compilation DVD
- To a full fledged host broadcaster service to offer live coverage of a major event such as an European summit of health ministers, involving dozens of camera crews, OB vans (mobile units), generation of pool signal for the media, feeding live coverage to users via satellite or web streaming, etcetera
- Trough all possibilities in between

- Encuentro de las Familias [Meeting of Families with the Pope], July 2006: Producing the pool signal from the airport, route, visits and mass. Production, execution and technical direction of IBC, including setting up 50 live positions and 189 cameras counting the route, mobile units and live positions, 2 helicopters, a Cam cable, two motorcycles, remote cameras, etc. Over 500 professionals.
- BARÇA - MADRID Special Report: Reporting from the EUROSTARS Hotel in Barcelona on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March 2007, on the occasion of the League match between Barcelona and Real Madrid. To do this two production control centres were set up, in Madrid and Barcelona, connected together and perfectly coordinated for either of them to work as master or contributing centre.
- 2008 General ELECTIONS: Special deployment for the 2008 Spanish General Elections, including the production of programmes in the run-up to polling day, an interview with Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and a special election day programme with extensive deployment of news resources and connections with the main sites of news interest
- 2006 World Basketball Championship: For the first time in Spain a World Basketball Championship was screened in its entirety, exclusively and free-to-air. An extensive technical team provided the very best coverage from both Spain and Japan. LaSexta (Imagina's free-to-air TV channel) provided up to 12 hours of coverage every day. LaSexta set up the SportCenter Mundobasket Japan 2006, a communications centre located in Barcelona to centralise all the coverage from Japan as well as featuring Spain's pre-tournament friendly matches.
- Formula One races: Fully integrated Host Broadcasting Center at the Formula One races at the Catalunya circuit
- Expo Zaragoza 2008: design and operation of an IPTV circuit feeding info and promotional clips to 70 screens during the 3 months of the Expo.
- Forum 2004: Fully integrated Host Broadcasting Centre at the Forum 2004 (press centre, TV centre, photo centre).
- Fundació Catalana per la Recerca i la Innovació: documentation recording of the full proceeding of the ESOF 2008 congress in Barcelona.
